Simply Beyond: The Next Chapter | A New Direction for the Podcast
Sometimes the most meaningful work begins with a question.
Not a perfectly formed plan.
Not a polished strategy.
Just a question that keeps returning until you decide to follow it.
For me, that question has always been about belonging.
Over the past several years, through my work with Simply Good Form, my speaking engagements, and my writing, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in conversations about identity, inclusion, and the ways our workplaces and communities can become more human.
Those conversations also gave birth to a podcast.
What started as Hey, Cis! — a space to explore gender diversity with curiosity and humility — grew into something larger than I originally imagined.
Along the way, I heard stories that were courageous, complex, and deeply human.
Stories from transgender and non-binary people navigating identity.
Stories from parents learning alongside their children.
Stories from leaders trying to build workplaces where people truly feel they belong.
And through those conversations, something became clear.
These conversations were never only about gender.
They were about how we show up for each other as human beings.
They were about courage.
They were about learning.
They were about leadership.
And that realization is what led to this next chapter.
Why “Simply Beyond”
The name Simply Beyond reflects a belief that has guided much of my work.
That growth often happens when we move beyond the assumptions we’ve inherited.
Beyond labels.
Beyond fear.
Beyond the idea that we have to have everything figured out before we begin.
The Simply Beyond podcast will continue to feature stories and conversations about gender diversity and allyship. Those voices remain incredibly important.
But the conversations will also expand to include broader themes around:
leadership and authenticity
navigating identity and life transitions
building cultures of belonging
learning to lead with curiosity and compassion
Because the truth is, these conversations intersect in powerful ways.
The courage it takes for someone to live authentically is not so different from the courage it takes for leaders to create environments where people feel safe to do so.
A Space for Real Conversations
Simply Beyond is not a place for perfect answers.
It’s a place for honest questions.
The kind of conversations where people can pause, reflect, and sometimes even reconsider what they thought they knew.
You’ll hear interviews with advocates, leaders, and individuals whose stories invite us to look at the world — and ourselves — with a little more empathy.
And occasionally, you’ll hear reflections from me as I continue my own journey of learning and growth.
